Fire in Bhaktapur after gases emerge while drilling ground
Apr 18, 2017- A fire broke out near Pilagaun ward office at Sirutar-1 in Bhaktapur district when gases emerged while drilling the ground for water on Tuesday.
The fire has destroyed machines and wires used in deep boring. It started at around 10 am today. It has still not been doused despite three fire engines of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur reaching the fire site to take it under control.
Eyewitness said the gas began to come out when boring reached 180 feet below the surface for water. It was not immediately known as to what caused the emerging gas to catch the fire.
The drilling was being conducted for Chapakharka Water Project. The water-boring works have been halted after the fire.

The Dhurmus Suntali Foundation
The Dhurmus Suntali Foundation handed over an integrated settlement built for the Musahar community in Bardibas Municipality-1, Mahottari, on the occasion of New Year on Friday.Renowned comic duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya were invited to the handover ceremony, where they presented house keys to Biltu Sadaya Musahar, the appointed chairman of the Integrated Musahar Settlement Consumers’ Committee. Chief Secretary Somlal Subedi and Sitaram Kattel and Kunjana Ghimire of the foundation were also present at the ceremony.Fifty houses, each with three rooms, an attic, running water facility, toilet and cooking gas; one community building, two public toilets, a view tower and a temple were presented to the Musahar community. Three non-Musahar families living with the community also received new homes.Each house cost Rs 800,000 to build and it took around Rs 50 million to build the settlement. Arjun Prasad Neupane, the project manager, said the foundation had received around Rs 63 million in donations both from inside and outside the country to build new homes for the poor Musahar people. Kattel and Ghimire, who shot to fame with their TV characters Dhurmus and Suntali, had established the foundation to help the victims of the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake. -

CHINA — Viral video coming out of China this week shows a student and teacher slapping each other hard in the face.
Apparently, the teacher thought the female student had a crappy attitude and told her if she didn’t show some manners, she’d hit her.
The girl goads the teacher to do so and the rest soon plays out as you’d expect: teacher slaps student, then student slaps teacher and the two begin to fight with each other. Others then run in and try to break it up.
Commenters on Chinese social media are largely coming out on the side of the teacher, saying the student should’ve shown more respect.
